Grapefruit, White

Grapefruit- AroMeds Citrus paradisi is certified organic and grown in the USA, and the fruit rinds have been cold pressed. It is the rutaceae family, a top note and had an uplifting bright, clean, sweet citrus aroma.

Uses-

  • The uplifting scent of grapefruit can help with mild depression, anxiety, stress and nervous exhaustion. A go-to oil to diffuse if you live in a cold climate, or area where there is limited sunshine. (Living in Vermont, I lean on grapefruit in February and March!)
  • Assists in fighting germs and helpful with colds and flu, as it is almost entirely made up of a chemical constituent called d-limonene, which stimulates immune function.
  • Grapefruit is a lymphatic stimulant  and can help with fluid retention, cellulite and obesity.
  • Grapefruit, lightly inhaled in small amounts just prior to eating, can stimulate appetite.
  • It's antiseptic qualities and refreshing smell make it a favorite in natural cleaning products.

Emotional Support - grapefruit can encourage joy, positivity, confidence, attunement, alertness, generosity, spontaneity, cooperative and upliftment.

Blends well with- Bergamot, black pepper, clary sage, clove, cypress, fennel, frankincense, geranium, ginger, juniper, lavender, lemon, mandarin, palmarosa, patchouli, peppermint, rosemary, thyme, ylang ylang

Notes of interest- The combination of lemon, lime and grapefruit essential oils makes a great diffuser blend. Make a stock bottle of 40 drops of lemon and grapefruit, and 20 drops of lime, mix and use in an inhaler or diffuser when you need a lift!

Modes of Application- massage, compress, bath, salve, direct inhalation, diffuser, skin care

Safety data- Skin sensitization possible if using old and/or oxidized oils. Grapefruit can cause phototoxicity, so as with all essential oils, properly dilute before applying to skin. Essential Oils are typically used via inhalation and topical application while properly diluted. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified aromatherapy practitioner to address a specific health need, for a specified amount of time. Keep away from children and pets.
