Clove Bud

Clove Bud- AroMeds Eugenia caryophyllata is organically grown in Sri Lanka. The buds are steam distilled. It is a member of the myrtaceae family. A middle note, it has a familiar, warm, spicy, woody and sweet aroma.

Uses-

  • Cloves analgesic qualities make it useful for numbing the nerves that cause toothaches, arthritis and neuralgia. According to Battaglia the chemical constituent eugenol prominent in clove bud essential oil, " acts to depress sensory receptors involved in pain perception."
  • Its antiseptic and antimicrobial qualities make it useful for  preventing colds, coughs, bronchitis and flu. It can also help to clear mucous and unblock sinuses.
  • Helps invigorate those dealing with mental fatigue, especially when blended with peppermint.
  • A digestive oil, it helps stimulate digestion and restore a lagging appetite.

Emotional Support - clove bud encourages stimulation, regeneration, inspiration, trust and inner warmth.

    Blends well with- bay laurel, bergamot, chamomile, clary sage, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, jasmine, lavender, lemon, orange, palmarosa, pine, sandalwood, vanilla, ylang ylang

    Modes of Application- massage, compress, bath, salve, direct inhalation, diffuser, steam inhalation

    Notes of interest- Clove trees live long productive lives...up to150 years!

    Safety data- Avoid while pregnant and with liver and/or kidney conditions.Dermal irritation and/or sensitization possible with some individuals. Skin sensitization also possible if using old and/or oxidized oils. Essential Oils are typically used externally through inhalation and topical application while properly diluted. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified aromatherapy practitioner to address a specific health need, for a specified amount of time. Keep away from children and pets.
