Cedarwood (Himalayan)

Himalayan Cedarwood- AroMed's Cedrus deodora is organically grown in the high altitudes of the Himalayan mountains in India. Its wood is steam distilled. The tree is in the pinaceae plant family, is a base note with a woody, slightly camphoraceous, smoky and balsamic aroma. 

Uses-

  • Reputed to help breakdown accumulated fats in the body and encourage lymphatic drainage
  • A nervous system sedative, can be helpful for decreasing stress, anxiety and agitation
  • Its astringent and antiseptic qualities make it useful when dealing with cystitis, and oily skin and hair, and seborrhea of the scalp
  • A great mucolytic and expectorant oil for both children and adults dealing with coughs, colds, flu and bronchitis
  • Can be used in insect repellant sprays
  • Emotionally grounding and strengthening, it can be an effective oil to lean on during times when confidence or resolve needs a boost.

Blends well with- lemon, orange, mandarin, grapefruit, lime, frankincense, lavender, marjoram, geranium, chamomile, clary sage, cypress, eucalyptus, juniper, palmarosa, patchouli, petitgrain, rosemary, sandalwood, vetiver, ylang ylang

Modes of Application- Massage, compress, bath, salve, direct inhalation, diffuser, steam inhalation

Safety data- Skin sensitization possible if using old and/or oxidized oils. Essential Oils are typically used externally through inhalation and topical application while properly diluted. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified aromatherapy practitioner to address a specific health need, for a specified amount of time. Keep away from children and pets.
