Cedarwood (Currently out of stock)

Cedarwood-  AroMeds Juniperus virginiana is ethically wild-harvested and the wood branches are steam distilled in Canada. The tree is in the cupressaceae plant family, and is a base note with a woody, sweet, balsamic aroma.

Uses-

  • Cedarwood's mildly sedating effects can be very effective when addressing chronic anxiety, tension and stress. Great diffused or in a nasal inhaler.
  • Its antiseptic and astingent qualities make this an effective oil to use when addressing coughs and bronchitis. Also, great when treating acne flair ups...just a drop on a blemish can resolve the issue.
  • Recommended for inclusion in insect repellant sprays. Most people enjoy cedarwood, but insects don't!

Emotional Support - cedarwood encourages strength, focus, fortitude, balance protectiveness, and persistence.

Blends well with- cypress, frankincense, juniper, lavender, lemon, patchouli, rose, sandalwood, vetiver

Notes of interest- Cedarwood oil is generally distilled from branches of older trees, sawdust, shavings and lumber waste.  It is not necessary to obtain oil by cutting a tree down, unlike rosewood or sandalwood. You can use this beautiful and centering oil, and feel good knowing there are sustainable practices in place.

Modes of Application- massage, compress, bath, salve, direct inhalation, diffuser, steam inhalation

Safety data- Skin sensitization possible if using old and/or oxidized oils. Essential Oils are typically used externally through inhalation and topical application while properly diluted. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified aromatherapy practitioner to address a specific health need, for a specified amount of time. Keep away from children and pets.
