Cajeput

Cajeput- AroMed's Melaleuca cajeputi is organically grown and the leaves and twigs are steam distilled in Vietnam. It is a member of the myrtaceae family and is a top note with a camphorus, strong, crisp, medicinal aroma.

Uses-

  • Battaglia states," Cajeput has long been used in Malaysia and Indonesia for its therapeutic values. It was considered particularly good for colds, flu and chronic rheumatism..."
  • Not only effective in respiratory and pain relief blends, cateput is an effective addition to skin care blends, particularly to address inflammation from insect bites, eczema and psoriasis.

Blends well with- Clary sage, clove bud, eucalyptus,  geranium, lavender, marjoram, pine, rosemary

Notes of interest- Australian aborigines have traditionally used cajeput for its analgesic qualities, crushing and inhaling the leaves to alleviate headaches.

Modes of Application- massage, compress, bath, salve, direct inhalation, diffuser, steam inhalation

Safety data- Skin sensitization possible if using old and/or oxidized oils. Essential Oils are typically used externally through inhalation and topical application while properly diluted. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified aromatherapy practitioner to address a specific health need, for a specified amount of time. Keep away from children and pets.
