Balsam Fir

Balsam Fir - Abies balsamia is a Cetified Organic essential oil from Canada, steam distilled from needles and twigs. Balsam fir is a middle note, in the pinaceae plant family with a fresh, green, balsamic, woody, piney aroma.

Uses:


  • Analgesic qualities make it useful for relief of muscular aches/pains and rheumatic discomfort in massage oils, lotions and salves.
  • Recommended for anxiety and stress in natural perfumes, lotions or diffused in the air.
  • Antiseptic and expectorant qualities make it useful for both upper and lower respiratory infections (both preventative and during active illness) Great in steams and diffusions.
  • A favorite in natural cleaning products, combined with citrus oils.

Suggested Use - Blend 6 drops balsam fir, 4 drops black spruce, 4 drops marjoram and 7 drops grapefruit essential oils into 1 ounce carrier oil. Apply to achy joints for relief.

Blends well with: frankincense, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, sweet marjoram, orange, patchouli, pine, rosemary, tea tree

Modes of Application: massage, compress, bath, salve, direct inhalation, diffuser, steam inhalation 

Safety data: Skin sensitization possible if using old and/or oxidized oils. Essential Oils are typically used externally through inhalation and topical application while properly diluted. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified aromatherapy practitioner to address a specific health need, for a specified amount of time. Keep away from children and pets.
