Sandalwood- AroMed's Santalum paniculatum is ethically wild-harvested in New Caledonia. The wood, minus the roots (which allow the tree to re-grow) is steam distilled. It is in the santalaceae plant family and is a base note with a soft, balsamic, woody aroma.
Emotional Support - sandalwood can encourage warmth, sensitivity, serenity, harmony, peace, wisdom, insightfulness and unity.
Blends well with- bergamot, black pepper, roman chamomile, clary sage, clove, fennel, geranium, grapefruit, frankincense, ho wood, jasmine, lavender, lemon, mandarin, myrrh, orange, palmarosa, patchouli, petitgrain, rose, vanilla, vetiver, ylang ylang
Notes of interest- Sustainability is a primary consideration when it comes to choosing a sandalwood to offer at AroMed. We have chosen a Hawaiian grower/distiller that plants twenty new trees to replace each single tree that is carefully selected for harvest.
Modes of Application- massage, compress, bath, salve, direct inhalation, diffuser, lotions, steam inhalation
Safety data- Skin sensitization is possible if using old and/or oxidized oils. Essential Oils are typically used via inhalation and/or topical application while properly diluted. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified aromatherapy practitioner to address a specific health need, for a specified period of time. Keep away from children and pets.
